Our House :]

Home sweet home....We had a lot of struggles getting the house we bought.
We put our first offer on our little Ogden home in October 2008....We did not receive the keys until February 3rd 2009! I'm just really thankful we both had a place to live while we were waiting. This is the first official picture of our "New Home"

Our house has 4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 2 Family Rooms (with a fireplace in each :] ) A laundry room, and of coarse a kitchen. We also have a 2 (small) Car garage, an RV pad, and a descent sized yard.

A lot of work had to be done to the house when we first bought it, with much thanks to Norris!! We completely painted the upstairs and replaced all the floors. Remodeled the kitchen and bathroom. and fixed a whole lot of loose ends. It was a lot of work but completely worth it! I absolutely love my house now! Plus, surprising it was one of the nicest houses we looked at in our price range. I would love a huge brand new house, someday. We don't plan on staying in this house forever but with just the two of us we fit perfectly on the top floor. We use the spare bedroom as an office/craft room which works out nicely I think.

This is my front door display for the month of July...I really want to get a holiday tree or something, but can't afford it right now...so I will decorate with holiday pictures...looks pretty cute I think.

Here is the kitchen before & after....I LOVE the wood floors! p.s. Our fridge...cost us $20!

Here is the living room before paint and carpet...I don't have a lot of "after" pictures...they are soon to come...we painted all the walls a tan color, did the trimming ivory, and have a tan colored carpet. The picture on the right is my fireplace display...since this photo I've added some more pictures and candles.

This is the bathroom in progress---NEW TILE :O and the bathroom decorations...the shower curtain, toothbrush holder and garbage can all match :]

here is the master bedroom...notice the hideous gold stars on the ceiling, it was such a pain to paint over them! We have decorated this room in browns and golds :] sounds odd...but actually turned out really cute! The furniture all matches and everything.

The saying over the bed, in case you can't read it says "Goodnight my love, goodnight my everything."

Here is the craft room/office...this is where I spend most of my time. The monkey stuff was actually supposed to go in my bathroom, but it looked so cute on my desk so I left it there!

We have a basement too, but we haven't done much with it. Downstairs is David's weight set and some random storage items. We will fix it up more as we need it... (when the kids come)

Our Background :]

Congrats to us! Our first blog!

Here's a little background information:

The Girl:
Amanda Jean Cook-aka Mandy....
Currently working full time at Manor Care as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been there since May 2007. I am going to school for nursing currently....I'm sure my mind will change again, I tend to flip back and forth a lot on career decisions. I love to scrapbook and take pictures, and do stupid things just to get a smile out of someone. I come from a very hysterical family who has a lot of fun. I am the oldest . I have 2 brothers (16&15) and one sister (3). Everyone lives in Westhaven currently.

The Boy:
David Norris Call:
Currently working for UCR as a conductor. He works graves which makes for lonely nights. He is also going to school. Something for business (he's also undecided...quite a couple?). Dave will also do anything for a laugh but comes from a more stricter family. He has 3 sisters and a brother. All are married with childern. (we now have 12 nieces and nephews!) Dave is the baby so i'm sure his parents are enjoying their empty house.

We met in April 2007 and dated ever since.
This is our first official photo together :]

We got engaged in August 2008,
It is not the most exciting of stories, but it is still special. Dave called me up one day and asked if I wanted to maybe go to dinner and a movie. I of coarse said yes and got ready. A little while later he knocks on my apartment door. I open it and in his hands is a large arrangement of red roses. He handed them to me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

We got our engagements taken in October over by Dave's work. Nate Allred took all of our pictures. He is amazing!

and got married April 11, 2009
We got married in the Victorian in Layton, UT It was absolutely beautiful. Everything turned out exactly as I had planned! Except the putting the ring on the wrong hand, almost forgetting the vail, and thinking I was going to pass out at the altar. It was all good.

Our colors were pink, silver, and black. We had Gerber daisies and calla lilies as our flowers.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids were Stephanie, Felisha, and Cassie.
The best man and groomsmen were Nathan, Scott, and Kyle.
and of coarse the flower girl was Sammy.

After the wedding we started our honeymoon in a cute little hotel in Layton. Early the next morning we went to Vegas! We spent most of the day driving, after we got there we relaxed a little then had a night on the town. We went to the top of the stratosphere and looked around for awhile. The view was amazing! I had been to Vegas before but had never seen this side of it. Absolutely stunning!

The next day we drove early to San Diego :] Stayed in and relaxed, probably went to dinner.
Early Tuesday we went to Sea World my newest favorite place! We had a lot of fun. Spent the entire day looking at everything. Wednesday we spent almost the entire day at the Zoo. I enjoyed this as well but not as much as Sea World. Thursday was one of the best days of all. We spent the day relaxing on the beach getting a tan. It was fabulous! I hadn't been to the beach since I was little and couldn't remember much about it. Overall I would say the honeymoon was a success :] I can't wait to go on another Vacation. If only money grew on trees.

We then drove home Friday to our little house in Ogden, ....more on this later
